Calling all math whizzes: Mathnasium, a math-tutoring franchise, is looking for qualified franchisees to open over 80 locations throughout the Northeast in the next two years.
The company outlined five prime growth areas, and the Garden State made the cut, along with Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York and Pennsylvania.
The goal of Los Angeles-based Mathnasium, which was acquired by Atlanta-based private equity firm Roark Capital in November 2021, is to help children gain lifelong skills, confidence and math comprehension.
According to the March 23 announcement, the potential new Mathnasium franchisees could add 500 to 700 jobs in the Northeast, with each center typically requiring six to nine employees.
“We currently have 96 Mathnasium centers throughout the area, all dedicated to teaching children math so that they understand it, master it, and love it. Each center has countless stories of how math has changed lives,” Shant Assarian, CEO of Mathnasium, said in a statement. “Math matters in school and in life as it promotes critical thinking and teaches problem-solving. We’re continuing to grow as more entrepreneurs discover how rewarding this business is when they can use a tailored curriculum designed with the student’s engagement in mind.”
