McCollister’s Global Services announced Sept. 1 that it acquired fellow Garden State company Horseless Carriage Carriers Inc., a national enclosed vehicle, shipping and storage service.
A representative for the Burlington-based logistics company told NJBIZ it is not disclosing financial terms of the deal.
Founded in 1975, Horseless Carriage offers transportation for unique and everyday vehicles as well as trucks, motorcycles, boats, airplanes, buses and military vehicles. McCollister’s President Daniel McCollister said his company intends to build upon Horseless Carriage’s name recognition and reputation.
“This acquisition is one more important step in our efforts to expand our enclosed auto transport division,” McCollister said in a statement.
Frank Malatesta, the owner of Horseless Carriage, said that McCollister’s “is the perfect company to carry on the legacy we have built over the past 47 years.”
“I have known Frank Malatesta for over 40 years, and I’m very excited and grateful that he has chosen to sell his company to McCollister’s. We will continue to honor his legacy and the company’s reputation for quality service,” said H. Daniel McCollister, McCollister’s chairman.
McCollister’s, in business since 1945, provides specialized transportation and logistics services for commercial and residential clients.
