Lance authored legislation, part of which has been signed into law, which expands access and improves quality standards of community mental health centers.

“Too often we are reminded that our nation’s mental health care system is not working nearly as well as it should. But in Washington we are making progress on legislation that will improve the mental health care coverage in this country through accountability, results-oriented research and meaningful prevention,” Lance said.

Lou Schwarz, CEO and president of the Mental Health Association of Morris County said, “His Excellence in Mental Health Act bipartisan legislation is improving quality standards for our community mental health centers and expanding access to those in our communities who truly need such services.”
