One day after he was recognized by the state Senate, Mercury Public Affairs announced the hiring of Kevin Drennan June 30 to serve as managing director of its New Jersey team.
Before Wednesday’s budget vote in Trenton, the Senate passed a resolution to salute and commend Drennan for his service. Lawmakers from both sides of the aisle spoke warmly about him.

Drennan
Drennan just finished serving as executive director of the New Jersey Senate Majority Office. In fact, he stayed longer than planned to help the ease the transition for Senate President Nick Scutari, D-22nd District, who took over that leadership position this year from Drennan’s previous boss, Steve Sweeney. Drennan was chief of staff to the then-Senate president.
“Kevin Drennan is a well-respected, highly accomplished political strategist who knows how to get results, and we are thrilled to welcome him to Mercury,” said Mercury Partner Michael Soliman, who leads the New Jersey office. “His decades of experience in Trenton working with leaders from across the state will be a huge asset to our clients.”
