The company says it has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission related to the proposed offering, for which the managing underwriters are Janney Montgomery Scott and A.G. Edwards & Sons. Proceeds will be used to repay the company’s outstanding short-term debt and to partially finance construction projects. The company also will offer a 30-day over-allotment option to purchase up to an additional 195,000 shares to the program’s underwriters. Shares of MSEX fell 10 cents to $18.44 in morning trading.
