More than 207,000 New Jersey homes and businesses were without power by midday Thursday as a result of Wednesday’s snowstorm.Jersey Central Power & Light reported more than 132,000 customers in the dark and Public Service Electric and Gas Company reported more than 75,000 customers without power.
JCP&L customers can report an outage by mobile phone by texting REG to 544487 (LIGHTS) to get started. They will need their 12-digit account number and ZIP Code.
PSE&G customers can report fallen wires or power outages by calling 1-800-436-PSEG, logging onto www.pseg.com, or by texting “OUT” to 4PSEG (47734). The utility’s website includes an Outage Map that is updated every 15 minutes and displays the location and status of power outages in PSE&G’s service area.
