IPTV services are typically offered by telecommunications services providers over computer networks, instead of through the conventional broadcast and cable formats.
The new company, Granita Media, Inc., will offer ads matched to the demographics of the viewers using advanced technology developed by mPhase. ÂIPTV creates an unprecedented opportunity for network providers to drive additional revenues, said Ron Durando, CEO of mPhase Technologies. The 11-year-old firm posted revenue of $975,000 last year, but incurred a loss of about $24,000.
mPhase shares were unchanged at about 11 cents in early-afternoon trades.
