Using physician-led health care exchanges, the group aims to improve health care for medically underserved populations.
Kansas-based Kammco will provide the data source, health exchange and analytic tools for HENC. In addition to New Jersey’s OneHealth New Jersey exchange, the company also created exchanges for the six additional states represented in HENC: Kansas, Georgia, South Carolina, Connecticut, Missouri and Louisiana.
Dr. Soumen Samaddar, medical director of Hunterdon Family & Sports Medicine in Hopewell, an affiliate of Hunterdon Medical Center, will represent the Medical Society of New Jersey in HENC along with individual representatives from each member-state’s participating organization.
“By working together to address universal health care issues such as health care disparities and population health, we can broaden our impact across the country,” MSNJ CEO Larry Downs said in a release.
In addition to the MSNJ, HENC includes the Connecticut State Medical Society, the Medical Association of Georgia, the Kansas Medical Society, the Louisiana Medical Society, the Missouri State Medical Association and the South Carolina Medical Associaiton.
Kammco is a medical professional liability insurer affiliated with the Kansas Medical Society.
