The Roseland-based payroll and human resources company said in its monthly Regional Employment Report that the Garden State added 5,800 service jobs, but lost 500 goods-producing jobs for the month.
Among industries, professional and business services led the way, adding 2,400 new workers for the month.
Sectors including natural resources/mining and construction; and trade, transportation and utilities both lost 600 jobs each, ADP said.
The manufacturing sector gained 100 jobs.
