Chemical foaming agent company Bergen International LLC announced Tuesday that it has expanded its manufacturing facilities with the addition of a building in Illinois. The Hasbrouck Heights-based company said in a news release that the manufacturing site in Elgin is a new, 45,000-square-foot building that features a new extrusion line and updated material handling equipment, as well as a state-of-the-art laboratory facility. The building enables Bergen to double its production capabilities for its plastics industry clients and increase its production, laboratory, shipping and receiving staff.
“We are very pleased to add this new facility and increase our production capacity,” Chief Financial Officer Richard Long said in a prepared statement. “This new facility, combined with additional shipping and receiving personnel, will ensure that we are able to meet the increased demand for our Foamazol, Foamazol XO and Foamazol XOP chemical foaming agent products. This will also allow us to better service new markets for these CFAs.
“The addition of new laboratory staff and facilities allows us to have a greater ability to develop custom products for our customers, and to tailor existing products to specific customer applications.”
Financial details of the building transaction were not disclosed.
