The retailer is the only New Jersey-headquartered company on the list of 75.
Over its 629 locations, Burlington employs 35,015 people. Three out of four are women.
“They hire people because their potential as an employee–they don’t care what preference you have in your personal life, or gender, or nationality,” said an employee supervisor quoted on the Fortune page. “They recognize you as a good employee and encourage you to keep growing with the company.”
Fortune’s research partner, Great Places to Work, analyzed feedback representing more than 4.6 million employees nationwide to create the list.
Great Places to Work found that 82 percent of employees say Burlington is a great place to work, with 87 percent saying they could be themselves at work and 86 percent calling management competent, honest, and ethical.
A representative from Burlington could not be reached for comment by press time.
