Net2Phone said it will provide up to 12 months of unlimited local and long distance service to qualified former SunRocket customers in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. Net2Phone, which is a subsidiary of IDT Corporation (NYSE: IDT, IDT.C), has detailed information on its Web site, www.net2phone.com/sunrocket.

SunRocket shut down earlier this week. It said in April that it had 200,000 customers. Another VoIP provider struggling to survive is Vonage of Holmdel, which a few months ago said it has 2.2 million customers. It recently lost a patent infringement lawsuit filed by Verizon Communications, and is hemorrhaging 50,000 customers a month.
