New fast charging station open at Farley Travel Plaza

A new, four-stall EVgo public fast charging station is open at the Farley Travel Plaza along the Atlantic City Expressway. — With the addition of the charging station at the Farley Travel Plaza, there are now 17 EVgo-owned and operated locations across the Garden State. – EVGO INC.

The South Jersey Transportation Authority (SJTA) and EVgo Inc. announced the opening of a new four-stall, EVgo public fast charging station on the Atlantic City Expressway at the Farley Travel Plaza Aug. 4.

The new charging depot continues the partnership between the Garden State and EVgo, the nation’s largest public fast charging network for electric vehicles. There are now 17 EVgo-owned and operated locations across New Jersey, with the network boasting 54 charging stalls, 46 DC fast charging stalls and eight L2 stalls.

Drivers can utilize the new Farley Travel Plaza charging station by using the EVgo app, EVgo program card or by credit card.

“EVgo recognizes that more convenient and reliable fast charging on New Jersey roads means even more EV drivers can travel through South Jersey with the SJTA,” said Jonathan Levy, chief commercial officer at EVgo. “These new EVgo fast charging stations on the Atlantic City Expressway are a win-win-win: a key part of EVgo’s continued growth, an integral piece of the state’s broader electrification goals, and a clear benefit to drivers looking to take advantage of the benefits of electric transportation.”

The new station was built in collaboration with Nissan and partially funded by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s It Pay$ to Plug In program, which adds to the South Jersey charging infrastructure. Gov. Phil Murphy has set a goal of registering 330,00 EVs in New Jersey by 2025.
