New Jersey’s largest investor-owned water utility has been working to advance its infrastructure across the state as part of a multimillion-dollar initiative that most recently saw updates begin in towns like Absecon, West Orange and Chatham.
On Wednesday the Camden-based New Jersey American Water said it will invest $1.4 million to replace approximately 6,440 feet of aging water main in Camden County beginning next week. The project also includes replacing two fire hydrants and 97 utility-owned service lines along the pipeline route. The company will upgrade the aging water lines with new main in the following areas:
• East Graisbury Ave., Audubon from East Atlantic Ave. to South Barrett Ave.;
• Windsor Circle, Cherry Hill from Windsor Dr. to the end of the road;
• Windsor Court, Cherry Hill from Windsor Dr. to the end of the road;
• Windsor Dr., Cherry Hill from West Chapel Ave. to West Miami Ave.;
• Westwood Ave., Cherry Hill from Windsor Dr. to Valley Run Dr.;
• Columbia Ave., Lindenwold from Lake Blvd. to Wade Ave.
This improvement is part of New Jersey American Water’s multimillion-dollar initiative to accelerate the renewal of water infrastructure that has reached the end of its useful life in more than 100 communities across the state.
Pioneer Pipe Contractors Inc., will begin work the week of Nov. 16 and expects to finish by the end of December, weather permitting.
