Camden-based New Jersey American Water said Thursday it will replace approximately 1,170 feet of aging water main in West Orange beginning next week.
This $512,000 investment will upgrade 6-inch water lines installed in the 1920s with new, 12-inch ductile iron main along Bradley Terrace from Mount Pleasant Avenue to Gregory Avenue, and Jones Place from Mount Pleasant Avenue to Bradley Terrace. The project also includes replacing three fire hydrants and 32 utility-owned service lines along the pipeline route.
This improvement is part of New Jersey American Water’s multimillion-dollar initiative to accelerate the renewal of water infrastructure that has reached the end of its useful life in more than 100 communities across the state.
Montana Construction Inc. will begin work on or about Nov. 11 and expects to finish within approximately six weeks, weather permitting.
