Construction work has started on a 10-unit mixed-use development in Jersey City, which is expected to open in mid-2020.

Located at 36 Jones St., this ground-up, five-story property blends usability and functionality and values the outdoors. All 10 apartments – a mix of one- and three-bedroom units – expand outdoors with sliding, floor-to-ceiling windows and doors leading to balconies or backyards.

Amenities for residents will include a small gym, designated bike storage room and private storage space in the cellar.

“This project addresses the growing desire for all-inclusive in-house community experiences,” said Esther Sperber, founder of Studio ST Architects, the New York-based firm that designed the development.

In addition to the residential rental units, the 20,000 square feet rental building will have 900 square feet of retail space.

“The development’s location next to public transportation along with the high-end housing will make 36 Jones St. an ideal place to live for renters looking for a city experience with a neighborhood feel,” said developer Saul Bardosh.
