The New Jersey Jackals, a major league sports team in Little Falls, named a new general manager.
General Manager Gil Addeo is the fifth in team history. He moves into the role from his prior position as group sales and event coordinator.
In his new role, his duties include general oversight of the entire operation including sales, community relations and being a liaison to the Frontier League, an independent professional baseball league with teams in the northeast United States and eastern Canada that operates in cities not directly served by Major or Minor League teams.
The New Jersey Jackals were originally part of the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball, commonly known as the Can-Am League, which merged into the Frontier League in October. The Jackals were the 2019 Can-Am League Champions.

This will be Addeo’s third season with the Jackals. He joined as a sales associate intern in 2018. This is his second promotion.
“Playing in the Frontier League is a game-changing opportunity for the New Jersey Jackals. We’re playing on a bigger stage now, and Gil Addeo is the right person at the right time to be our General Manager,” New Jersey Jackals Owner Al Dorso Sr. said in a statement. “Gil brings a perfect blend of creative passion and analytical thinking to the table, and I can’t wait to see how he leads our organization to draw more fans and make the Jackals an even more alluring community relations and business partner.”
The organization has big community development plans this season through relationships with local towns, schools, and summer camps. Its expanded sales force has grown its group sales efforts and come up with new in-stadium ways to attract marketing partners, a release said.
“I’m counting on our talented staff to answer the challenge of expanding our loyal fan base and strengthening relationships with Montclair State University and all our neighboring communities. And it certainly wouldn’t hurt if we can win a second consecutive championship,” Addeo said in a statement.
The Jackals begins its first season in the Frontier League on May 14 on the road against the Florence Y’alls in Florence, Ken. The team’s home opener at Yogi Berra Stadium on Montclair State University’s campus is set for May 22 against the Quebec Capitales.
