Green Way Market will open its fourth tri-state location in Maplewood on Oct. 23 in a former Kings Food Market location at 159 Maplewood Avenue.
The retailer focuses on natural foods and organics and gluten-free products, though it also offers traditional groceries.
The market is owned and operated by lifelong grocer Adam Shapiro. “We often dine in Maplewood and leapt at the opportunity to become a member of this special community. The town and its officials have been generous is their assistance to help us in this endeavor,” said Shapiro in a statement on the opening.
The store has been completely renovated on the inside and improvements were made to the store’s exterior façade.
Grand opening events planned for Oct. 23 include a 10 a.m. ribbon cutting ceremony followed by an 11 a.m. community block party featuring food trucks where samples of Ranchers Legend Beef, Premio Sausages, and Nathan Hot Dogs will be given out, as well as other food offerings.
The block party will also have festivities for children, such as face painting and balloon art.
