Newark-based software company forms new subsidiary

Arkados Group Inc., a software and hardware design company, announced Thursday it has formed a wholly owned subsidiary, Arkados Energy Solutions LLC.AES will be a global energy services provider and focus on the design, installation and maintenance of energy solutions for both residential and commercial use. AES is intended to implement smart-grid applications in LED lighting, building automation and energy management for wireless and power line communication.

“The launch of AES marks another milestone for Arkados as we continue to pursue our vision of being a global leader in machine-to-machine communications for building automation and energy management,” Terrence DeFranco, CEO of Arkados Group, said in a statement. “With the proprietary software platforms that allow for the command and control of cloud-based systems, unique technology and products developed by our partners and the vast opportunities in the energy management and clean tech industries, we are very excited about the opportunities that this new venture can generate and expect it to contribute meaningfully to our financials in coming quarters.”
