On Aug. 11, Newark-based company MEDINA=CITI will be opening doors on =Space beta 0.1, a temporary location for the company’s =Space (Equal Space) co-working location that will officially open its doors later in the year. The company decided to open the space after recognizing the growing need for a full-time co-working space in the city.

“The community of Newark needs it now, not when our building goes up,” co-founder William “Citi” Medina said.

Medina hopes =Space can carry the momentum created by the city’s popular pop-up Converge, which is open on Thursdays and will close its doors in October.

Located at 89 Market St. in Newark, =Space beta 0.1 will operate from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday as a location for startup companies to grow their business and develop their ideas. It will also extend its hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays to accommodate entrepreneurs building their business while still working a full-time job.

Entrepreneurs interested in reserving space can do so at equalspace.co.
