The Newark Community Economic Development Corporation has a new chief financial officer, it announced Tuesday.Accounting and project management veteran Kevin Seawright has joined the city’s economic development organization as executive vice president and CFO, the Newark CEDC said in a news release. Seawright has been utilizing his experience in accounting, operations and diverse capital management to improve East Coast communities for more than 13 years, the organization added.
His resume is highlighted by time working for the city of Baltimore, including serving as deputy chief operating officer in the education sector for six years, as well as in payroll and finance roles in other sectors.
The Newark CEDC focuses on attracting, growing and retaining businesses in the state’s largest city.
