Newark-based net2phone, a provider of unified cloud-based communications services for businesses, announced that it has acquired LiveNinja.LiveNinja is provider of an innovative customer-facing messaging and live chat management services. Jonah Fink, president of net2phone, said these services will help expand the company’s offerings to its clients through its PicuP platform.

PicuP provides small to midsized businesses with an automated self-service platform that allows them to professionally answer, route and manage their inbound calls.

“LiveNinja’s powerful messaging and chat solution will be integrated with PicuP to further distinguish and advance our cloud-based communication service for small to midsized businesses,” Fink said. “The acquisition of LiveNinja reflects our commitment to grow PicuP into a market-leading multichannel communications platform for small to mid-sized enterprises — facilitating seamless communications between SMBs, their customers and their suppliers through voice, video, chat, texting, messaging and more.”

LiveNinja offers a messaging application that facilitates companies and their customers having seamless conversations across multiple messaging and chat channels, including live chat, SMS and Facebook Messenger — the channels that businesses most often utilize to meet, convert and serve their customers.

“Customers today reach out to businesses through a multitude of channels, and businesses need the tools to manage these interactions seamlessly,” said Will Weinraub, CEO of LiveNinja. “Imagine a scenario where a customer contacts a business through its website, transfers from chat to SMS, and then continues the conversation by calling the business’s dedicated phone number. Through this new partnership, we will provide businesses with unified access to the context, history and data generated across all of these channels to gain customer insight. We are excited to be joining with net2phone to achieve this vision.”

LiveNinja will continue to offer its messaging platform as a standalone product until the integration of the two companies’ services has been completed. At that point, LiveNinja customers will be transitioned to PicuP so they can enjoy access to the integrated solution.
