Cherry Hill-based NFI, a supply chain solutions provider, announced it completed the acquisition of SCR, an intermodal focused brokerage company, to enhance its suite of end-to-end supply chain solutions.

Seattle, Wash.-based SCR will expand NFI’s non-asset intermodal services, as well as its refrigerated capabilities.

SCR will join NFI’s brokerage team, with more than 200 employees in nine offices across North America.

NFI has over 40,000 partner carriers and moves more than 300,000 shipments annually, according to the company.

In addition to expertise in dry truckload and less-than-truckload, NFI’s specialized capabilities include refrigerated, flatbed, over-dimensional, intermodal and final mile.

Continually expanding its suite of supply chain solutions over its 87-year history, NFI said the addition of SCR reinforces its position as a best-in-class provider of both asset and non-asset transportation solutions, as well as expands the company’s footprint across North America.

NFI also provides an integrated suite of services including dedicated transportation, distribution, transportation management, port drayage, intermodal, global logistics and commercial real estate.
