The New Jersey State Office of Innovation launched a free online tool to help new cannabis entrepreneurs navigate setting up their business.
The New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission highlighted the tool in a March 17 LinkedIn post and called it both “easy-to-use” and “super helpful.”
A personalized checklist is available to help cannabusiness hopefuls to get their businesses established, licensed and operating.
The widget comes on the heels of the CRC opening its portal for dispensary license applicants on March 15. The portal has been open for other types of businesses — including cultivators, manufacturers and testing labs — since Dec. 15.
The CRC is now accepting applications on a rolling basis.
Per the Commission’s rules, applications from social equity businesses, diversely owned businesses, microbusinesses and conditional license applicants will be prioritized when it comes to their review and scoring. These include businesses owned by individuals with past cannabis convictions, those from designated economically disadvantaged areas, and minority-owned, woman-owned, and disabled-veteran owned businesses.
