College access program NJ LEEP has announced United Airlines MileagePlus members can now donate their miles to help NJ LEEP students succeed in college.
United Airlines chose NJ LEEP as one of the first campaigns for its new Miles on a Mission crowd-funding platform.
Through Miles on a Mission, MileagePlus members can use their miles to contribute to campaigns that help support communities in need.
NJ LEEP serves first-generation and low-income students from Greater Newark. NJ LEEP is currently serving 45 middle school students, 150 high school students, 120 college students, and more than 300 family members.
NJ LEEP wants to raise 1.5 million miles by Nov. 21 to help its students visit their top colleges upon acceptance, fly home for the holidays, and ensure NJ LEEP staff can visit college students on campus. These miles will help support NJ LEEP’s broader mission of helping students build the skills, gain the habits, and get the exposure they need in order to succeed in college and in their careers. To help NJ LEEP reach this goal, United Airlines will match the first 50,000 miles earned for this campaign.
Miles on a Mission is a part of United’s Every Action Counts pledge, which aims to connect people, unite the world and serve communities by putting people and planes to work for the greater good. Eligible charities can apply for the chance to launch a 28-day campaign to raise miles that help them deliver on their missions through travel.
