The New Jersey Business Action Center will host a free webinar for employers covering COVID-19 benefits and worker protections on Feb. 18 at noon.
Speakers on tap for the program, titled COVID-19 Workplace Health/Safety & Worker Benefits: What Employers Need To Know, will discuss state and federal rules and resources and provide information on subjects including earned sick leave and paid family leave.
The webinar is being held in conjunction with the state Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Two officials from the agency, Manager of Strategic Outreach Holly Low and Assistant Director Wadiak, are among the scheduled presenters. Low’s work focuses on promoting equitable access to labor laws and protections, helping workers understand their rights. Wadiak oversees consultation and training programs under OSHA and the Public Employees Occupation Safety and Health Act. Economic development officials from Bergen, Hudson and Passaic counties will also participate.
“The NJBAC is committed to helping New Jersey businesses, especially when most are recovering and trying to get back to work during these uncertain times,” said NJBAC Executive Director Melanie Willoughby in a statement. “These resources can help business owners understand the updated COVID-19 workplace safety rules and worker benefits directly from the New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development.”
