A year ago, Summit Medical Group completed its groundbreaking acquisition of CityMD, creating a health care organization providing primary, specialty and urgent care services. The combined entity, Summit CityMD boasts more than 1600 providers at 200 locations in New York and New Jersey.
In the latest installment of NJBIZ Conversations, Editor Jeff Kanige hears from Summit Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey LeBenger about the first year of the merger, delivering care during the COVID-19 pandemic and the company’s expansion plans. “We are going to create a health care delivery model in the New York metropolitan area that is nowhere else in the country,” LeBenger said. “We take care of almost 800,000 unique patients a year, we run between the entire company 6 million visits a year. We expect to put on major hubs in the New York metropolitan area. Long Island, as well as Westchester County. We’re going to continue to grow.”
