Toorak Capital Partners is a Summit-based investment firm that acquires residential and commercial bridge and term loans in the U.S. and the U.K. Since its founding in 2016, Toorak says it has provided about $10 billion in capital and funded nearly 30,000 loans.

Focusing on residential, multifamily and mixed-used projects, the firm’s efforts have resulted in renovated or stabilized housing for 50,000 families. Of particular interest in its home state, Toorak has funded about 500 housing projects in Newark.

Toorak is also a 2022 NJBIZ Business of the Year honoree and was a Fast 50 award winner in 2020 and 2019.

In this edition of NJBIZ Conversations, the firm’s CEO, John Beacham, offered an analysis of the current residential real estate market, Toorak’s work in New Jersey’s largest city and the factors likely to shape the business over the next several months.
