Do you think you have what it takes to make it to the New Jersey Hall of Fame? Well, once Steve Edwards and his allies are done, all you’ll need is a way to get yourself to American Dream in East Rutherford.
Edwards is leading the effort to build a home for the Hall of Fame at the megamall. If all goes according to plan, the space should be done by the end of the year — just weeks after the next induction ceremony scheduled for this fall. His allies include prominent members of the state’s business community, whose support Edwards continues to seek.
The Hall will be a 10,000-square-foot entertainment and learning center located on the third floor of the mall, near the Nickelodeon Universe theme park, DreamWorks indoor water park and Toys R Us flagship store. It will feature exhibits and immersive experiences celebrating the state and inductees.
In this edition of NJBIZ Conversations, Edwards describes what will go into the Hall of Fame’s space at American Dream, why the project is important and what the next steps might be in bringing New Jersey history to life.
