Jeff Miller took over the top job at Bridgewater-based Synchronoss Technologies last September, in the middle of the pandemic and following the resignation of his predecessor, Glen Lurie, over violations of company policies. Miller then set to work refocusing the company and revamping its finances. Now, with remote work likely a permanent feature of the economy, the communications software provider is in position to expand its customer base.
For this edition of NJBIZ Conversations, Editor Jeff Kanige spoke with Miller about the company’s recent past, its preparations for the future and a new partnership with Allstate Protection Plans that allows individuals to safely back up and manage the data on their devices.
“They have a series of offerings for consumers to provide insurance on physical devices like PCs or smartphones. We are providing a digital complement to that, through our relationship, so that the content on those devices, can also be insured,” he said. “We’re seeing a greater demand of people trying to protect and ensure the integrity of precious digital content and that’s where our cloud services come in handy.”
