The results are in for the 2021 NJBIZ Reader Rankings. In more than 50 categories, the Reader Rankings identify the best of New Jersey across a range of businesses and industries as chosen by the state’s business owners, clients and colleagues. In other words, all of you.
This year, businesses were evaluated during an open voting process for leaders in banking, finance and insurance; education; employment; food, hospitality and entertainment; general business; health care and pharmaceuticals; philanthropy and corporate development; professional services; and real estate services.
The Valley Health System was the big winner this year, earning the top spot in five categories. The Valley Hospital was voted the No. 1 hospital, cardiac care center and nonprofit organization; Valley Health was the No. 1 system; and Valley Medical Group was the top physician group.
“We are delighted that Valley Health System has earned the top spot in each of the five categories in which it was nominated, and are grateful for the support of all those who voted for Valley in this year’s poll,” Valley CEO Audrey Meyers said in a statement. “The survey results are a reflection of the compassionate, high-quality care and service we provide to our patients and their families each and every day.”
Provident Bank also turned in a solid showing, earning three first-place spots: as best bank for business use, Economic Development Authority lender and Small Business Administration lender.
“We’re thrilled to be voted by the readers of NJBIZ as the winner in three categories which are extremely important to businesses,” said Tony Labozzetta, Provident’s president and COO, in a statement. “Our commitment to helping businesses is something we take great pride in and we are pleased to see that NJBIZ readers recognize this. Our ability to combine the personalized service of a community bank with the resources and capabilities of a regional bank presents a unique advantage to businesses.”
The nomination period for the Reader Rankings was open from Aug. 2 to Aug. 15. The five companies with the top nominations moved to the voting round. The voting took place during the month of September and ended on Oct. 3. The companies with the most votes are the winners.
The results from the 2021 Reader Rankings highlighting the top three companies from each category are available in a special supplement to the Nov. 15 issue of NJBIZ, and online here.
