Leibowitz will lead NJII’s efforts in the economic development of Southern New Jersey to include the growth and development of the National Aviation Research and Technology Park and the larger defense and homeland security market, according to NJII.
Leibowitz brings a 16-year career focused in the defense and homeland security arena with experience working in the public, private and government sectors. He began his career at the MIT Lincoln Laboratory, a federally funded research and development center, where he investigated novel methods for the detection of chemical weapons and explosives.
He has also worked in the development of explosives trace-detection systems at GE Security; as a senior project manager at information technology and consulting services SRA International; and as a manager of certification test and evaluation programs at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
