Sica says he believes that there’s always a better way. Finding better ways to help clients build and keep their wealth led him to found Circle Squared Alternative Investments.
Early in his career, Sica worked for some of the biggest names in financial services including Wachovia/Wells Fargo where he was managing director of investments but broke away from that world because he wanted to create something different than the typical Wall Street offering.
With modern technology, the process of creating a portfolio of stocks and bonds has become commoditized, but the best investment opportunities are often beyond the reach of the average high-net-worth investor. Sica founded Circle Squared to buck that trend by giving clients the oppor-tunity to invest in tangible assets that contribute to the real economy.
Since its founding in 2015, Circle Squared and its clients have been involved in more than $1 billion worth of transactions in private equity, technology startups, Broadway shows, award-winning movies and a wide variety of real estate projects.
Some key projects Circle Squared spearheaded in 2018-2019 include the The MC Hotel, a collaboration with The Hampshire Cos. and the Pinnacle Cos. The 159-room, 130,000-square-foot full-service hotel is now open in downtown Montclair. The Rivet in Jersey City opened in 2018 with 163 market rate apartments and approximately 10,000 square feet of retail on the West Campus of New Jersey City University. Developed through a joint venture with the Hampshire Cos. and Claremont, the project is part of the $400 million NJCU West Campus Master Plan. City Line West in Jersey City recently opened as a joint venture with the PRC Group. It consists of 144 Class A market rate apartments with amenities including Smart Home technology throughout the building.
A commentator on traditional and alternative investing, personal finance and economic topics in general, Sica is a regular guest on FOX Business, and is often sought by other broadcast, online and print media outlets for his insights on a wide range of issues.
