Plumbing and building material company Lixil has tapped Trey Northrup as head of its Americas region.
Northrup joins Lixil in Piscataway from 20 years at Whirlpool Corp., most recently overseeing Whirlpool’s JennAir and Commercial Laundry Group, where he led commercial execution, new business, sales, marketing and merchandising, among other responsibilities.
“We have been transforming our business and culture, and this process has only accelerated since the pandemic,” said Bijoy Mohan, leader of LIXIL International, which includes the Americas region. “Trey is the right person to continue leading us on this journey in the Americas. We set out to find a leader who could build on the work we started to become a more consumer-focused organization with brands that meet a wide range of needs and expectations. Trey’s marketing and commercial experience along with his passion for our brands will evolve the way we do business and unleash our capabilities in the marketplace.”

Northrup is tasked with promoting growth in Lixil’s iconic brands American Standard, GROHE and DXV through innovation and to enhance organizational culture; as well as building a diverse and inclusive culture to improve Lixil’s overall speed and flexibility.
“The world is changing around us, and we must change with it,” said Northrup in a prepared statement. “This new environment requires us to be more agile and innovative to meet the ever-evolving needs of our plumbing customers and consumers.”
“I’m always pushing boundaries,” he said. “By empowering people to make decisions they will begin to have new experiences that impact their beliefs to ultimately be more accountable and drive better business results. Our customers and consumers will all benefit from this change.”
