DSD Renewables acquired two rooftop solar projects in New Jersey, the Schenectady, N.Y.-based company announced March 8. Terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
The company also announced it acquired a third project in Connecticut and intends to purchase three more this year, all from Dynamic Energy of Wayne, Pa. The six projects, all rooftop installations, total approximately 7.5 MWs.
The two Garden State projects – a 553 kW system in North Brunswick Township and a 1.99 MW system in Somerset – are expected to produce 3,255 MWhs of clean, renewable energy each year, avoiding 2,307 metric tons of carbon equivalent, DSD stated. Both sites take part in the state’s Transition Renewable Energy Certificates program.
“Our partnership with Dynamic Energy enables access to clean, renewable solar energy in underserved communities, and extends our footprint in key areas,” Kevin Hu, senior manager of asset acquisitions at DSD, said in a statement. “Dynamic Energy’s extensive experience as both a developer and EPC contractor makes them an ideal partner, and we anticipate working on more projects together in the future to amplify our impact.”
