The oat milk and 52 other products, which were distributed nationally, are being recalled due to the potential for microbial contamination, including from the organism Cronobacter sakazakii—the same culprit behind the mass baby formula recalls.
Symptoms of Cronobacter sakazakii infection include fever, vomiting and urinary tract infection. Vulnerable and immunocompromised populations may be more susceptible to infection.
The U.S. Food & Drug Administration reported July 28 that these 53 products have not been known to cause any illnesses.
Anyone with a recalled product should dispose of it immediately or return it to the place of purchase for a refund. Consumers can contact the Lyons Recall Support Center 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 1-800-627-0557 or visit the company’s website.
