OceanFirst Bank appoints chief banking officer, new regional presidents

OceanFirst Bank announced Tuesday it has appointed Joseph J. Lebel III its new chief banking officer and has promoted George Destafney and Vincent D’Alessandro to regional presidents.OceanFirst Bank announced Tuesday it has appointed Joseph J. Lebel III its new chief banking officer and has promoted George Destafney and Vincent D’Alessandro to regional presidents.

Lebel will be responsible for leading the banking division, which includes all customer facing areas. He joined OceanFirst in 2006 as a senior vice president. He was then promoted to chief lending officer in 2007 and executive vice president in 2013.

Destafney will be responsible for leading the bank’s initiatives in customer service in Central Jersey, which includes Ocean, Monmouth and Middlesex counties along with lending services into Mercer County and the Philadelphia market. He joined OceanFirst in 2013 as a senior vice president and senior relationship manager. Prior to OceanFirst, he was at TD Bank for 18 years.

D’Alessandro will lead the bank’s customer service initiatives in South Jersey, which includes Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Burlington counties. He joined OceanFirst in 2008 as a vice president and then was promoted to senior vice president and commercial team leader for Ocean County in 2013. He has 28 years of experience in the banking industry.
