An Englewood Cliffs tech company is adding to its executive team with a new hire who brings with him FinancialForce and Salesforce cred.
On Monday, OwnBackup announced John Moss as general counsel, a position from which he will lead all legal strategy, especially as concerns corporate growth.
Moss comes to the cloud-to-cloud backup and recovery vendor from FinancialForce, where he served as chief legal officer, creating and scaling Legal and Security functions, OwnBackup said, to support the company’s tripling revenue. Prior to that, he was senior vice president and general counsel, Commercial at Salesforce.
“[Moss’s] monumental experience within the software industry, and the Salesforce ecosystem in particular, will help multiply OwnBackup’s success and skyrocket the company even further than we can imagine in the long term,” OwnBackup Chief Executive Officer Sam Gutmann said in a prepared statement. “Trust is essential for our customers. As we scale our business, John’s astronomical experience building legal and compliance functions within both established and emerging growth software companies will solidify OwnBackup’s position as a trusted cloud-to-cloud backup and recovery partner.”
At Salesforce, Moss’s work leading the commercial legal function provided for revenue growth that jumped from $300 million to $4 billion annually, OwnBackup said. His work experience prior to Salesforce includes a variety of legal roles at software and SaaS companies, including Oracle.
