OwnBackup will expand its cloud-to-cloud backup and recovery platform following the close of $23.25 million in Series C round financing.
The funding, announced Thursday by the Fort Lee-based company, was co-led by Insight Venture Partners and Vertex Ventures, with existing investors Innovation Endeavors, Orzyn Capital and Salesforce Ventures also taking part.
Sam Gutmann, chief executive officer for OwnBackup, said in a statement the injection of funds would allow the company to scale up to meet rising demand for its services, particularly in the Salesforce ecosystem.
According to the company, it has achieved 100 percent year-over-year revenue growth for its cloud data protection platform and plans to expand upon its existing partner network while doubling its engineering and European teams.
Mike Wolff, senior vice president global ISV partners, Salesforce, welcomed OwnBackup to the SalesForce AppExchange, saying the company has demonstrated value to Salesforce partners and customers.
“As we set the bar for cloud data protection, our focus continues to be growing the team and leading the pack in cloud data protection innovation,” he added.
OwnBackup has also expanded its team, announcing the addition of Gareth Morris as vice president of sales for EMEA, to be based in the company’s London office. The OwnBackup board will also see the addition of Nikitas Koutoupes of Insight Venture Partners, Harpinder Singh of Innovation Endeavors and Bob DeSantis, president and chief operating officer of Conga.
OwnBackup Archiver, a new product that optimizes users’ SaaS platforms, while addressing regulatory compliance needs, is now also generally available, the company said.
OwnBackup also has locations in Tel Aviv and London which contribute to research and development, support and other functions.
