Panasonic Corp.‘s North American operations will immediately grow its business-to-business technology solutions arm, Panasonic System Communications Co. of North America, by increasing its work force by 25 percent, including approximately 90 marketing, sales, product and business development, and engineering jobs at its Secaucus headquarters, according to the company’s career database.
With the new hires, Panasonic will increase its offering of business-to-business products, which include computing, security and surveillance systems, retail information systems, visual conferencing, and video production.
“Panasonic has been growing our B2B business for years, and we anticipate continued growth, which is why we are staffing up now,” Panasonic corporate communications director Jim Reilly said in an e-mail. “Our growth in the B2B sector is related to the increase in B2B offerings that support our customers in business and government who rely on our technologies.”
Panasonic’s business techology portfolio includes commercial enterprises, small- and medium-sized businesses, companies in the health care industry and federal, state and local government agencies.
Reilly said both of the company’s markets — consumer electronics and business technology — will continue to expand their products and staff.
According to Panasonic talent acquisition and strategic sourcing director Jason Jordan-Smith, the company will bring in more new hires when it completes its relocation to Newark in 2013, but Panasonic would not disclose that estimate or the departments involved in that personnel growth.
