Panasonic Creates Two New Units

Panasonic recently announced deals for the installation of more than 5,000 plasma high-definition televisions at the new Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, 103-inchPanasonic Corp. of North America, which manufacturers and markets high definition televisions, today announced that it has created two new unit companies that will be responsible for its efforts in the digital television business. The market includes plasma and LCD technologies.

Hideaki Harada will lead Panasonic”s consumer strategy as president of Panasonic Display Co. and Andrew Nelkin will lead the company”s business-to-business professional strategy as president of Panasonic Professional Display Co. Both will report to Panasonic Corp. of North America”s Chairman and CEO Yoshi Yamada.

Secaucus-based Panasonic recently announced deals for the installation of more than 5,000 plasma high-definition televisions at the new Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, 103-inch plasmas on the set of NBC”s Football Night In America television program, and a range of large-screen flat panel displays at Miami”s Dolphin Stadium, home to the National Football League”s Miami Dolphins and Major League Baseball”s Florida Marlins.
