Party City plans to hire 25,000 temporary employees nationwide and open up 275 Halloween City pop-up stores in preparation for the 2019 season.
The Rockaway-based retailer expects to retain about 10 percent of these employees the following Halloween season.
According to a statement by Party City Retail Group Chief Executive Officer Brad Weston, seasonal jobs at Party City often lead to permanent employment and even long-term careers. Approximately 15 percent of current employees began their career with the company as seasonal Halloween employees.
Party City currently has 26 locations in New Jersey.
It is unclear how many temporary jobs will become available in the state. A spokesperson did not return a request for comment by press time.
