Molly Ann Farms is preparing to launch Passaic County’s second legalized recreational cannabis dispensary.
Located at 265 Belmont Ave. in Haledon – in the former De Luccia-Lozito Funeral Home – the shop will host a grand opening celebration Sept. 30 from noon to 4 p.m.
As part of the festivities, Haledon Mayor Michael Johnson, alongside the local governing body and first responders, will lead a ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon. There will also be free food, music and swag giveaways.
Co-founded and co-owned by siblings Gabriella Wilday and Gian Lombardi – and named after the brook that runs alongside the property – the new venture aims to become the “first, largest, and highest volume adult use cannabis retailers” in the state.
Wilday, the company’s chief executive officer, commented, “We are not just a store; we are a movement aiming to spread happiness across our employees, our customers and the communities we serve. At Molly Ann Farms, customers aren’t just customers; they are members of a community rooted in common ground. With a diverse selection of cannabis products to cater to every budget and personal budtenders to guide the shopping experience, we strive to make every visit both convenient and special.”
With ample on-site parking, an exterior pick-up window for pre-orders and a 2,000-square-foot sales floor carrying a wide range of high-quality products at fair prices, Molly Ann Farms is poised to provide customers a convenient location to shop for cannabis and cannabis products.
Additionally, Molly Ann Farms will offer a high level of customer engagement to ensure that everyone from cannabis novices to more experienced users will find their perfect product.
Along with a commitment to providing an exceptional retail experience, the business is also striving to support the growth and development of the community. As part of that mission, it has already provided more than two dozen job opportunities to locals, including those with cannabis-related convictions.
After securing local approval in March 2022, Molly Ann Farms secured its Class 5 retail license from the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission in February 2023.
Lombardi, who serves as chief operating officer, said, “After 18 long months since receiving our municipal approval from Haledon, we are beyond thrilled to open our doors and begin embodying a positive role model for the legal, regulated cannabis industry. Our journey does not stop here; we are committed to furthering cannabis reforms, with legal home grow in New Jersey at the top of the list.”
Within Passaic County, the only other storefront offering medicinal and recreational cannabis is Rise Dispensaries in Paterson. Neighboring municipalities – including Wayne, North Haledon, Clifton and Hawthorne – continue to ban cannabusinesses from operating within their borders.
