Pier Village is a year-round destination, but summer “down the Shore” attracts a wider set of travelers and this year the commercial space plans to welcome two new tenants to entice visitors.

Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls and Sunglass City will expand the roster of options at the Long Branch retail and recreational spot, Kushner announced May 10.

According to Pierson Commercial Vice President Ryan Starkman, exclusive retail leasing agent for The Shops at Pier Village, the property’s “continued ability to attract high-quality and unique retail tenants highlights the community’s broad appeal to not just businesses but residents and guests alike. We have been honored to help bring each of these businesses to the community and look forward to seeing each of them open their doors this year.”

Pier Village offers 140,000 square feet of retail, food and beverage, and fitness options. The latest additions follow a trio of new tenants that were announced in November 2022, and also secured by Starkman.

Mason’s 2,062-square-foot lease marks the fast-casual seafood restaurant’s debut in the Garden State. With nearly 30 locations nationwide, the eatery established in 2014 offers fresh Maine lobster rolls and more. According to the company, it sources its lobsters from sustainable fisheries.

Sunglass City, with locations in Maryland and Florida, also marks its entrance to the state with its 1,624-square-foot lease at Pier Village.

“As we gear up for summer, we are excited to welcome Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls and Sunglass City to our growing community of premier shopping, dining, entertainment and residential experiences,” said Nicole Kushner Meyer, president of Kushner. “With a diverse array of additional businesses scheduled to open their doors in the coming weeks, we know that summer 2023 will be Pier Village’s most successful year yet.”

Three new retailers – Salt LifeLittle Words Project and Sundae Donuts – have already opened at the property this spring. Additionally, Baldy Art Gallery recently reopened, unveiling its 2023 collection, according to Kushner.

Strand SalonRemedy Realm and Gavone’s Italian are all also scheduled to open later in 2023.

Kushner acquired The Shops at Pier Village in 2014. According to the firm, the complex offers access to more than 2.3 million visitors annually. It features 493 luxury rental apartments, 243 condos and 91 hotel rooms and year-round community events and programming.

The property is currently more than 95% leased, according to ownership, with limited availabilities remaining starting from approximately 1,544 square feet to more than 2,165 square feet, including one vented restaurant space.
