The Pinnacle Cos. is partnering with The Hampshire Cos. in the development of downtown Montclair’s first new hotel in decades, the firms said Monday. The developers also said Chicago-based Aparium Hotel Group will manage the 148-room property, which will be known as The MC and will be part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection. The eight-story facility will include a rooftop bar, farm-to-table restaurant, conference center and a public art atrium, according to a news release. Pinnacle also said the hotel’s food and beverage program will serve a lobby market, a full-service restaurant and bars on the ground level and rooftop, with a public atrium will provide a forum for art and cultural exhibitions.
The hotel is part of Pinnacle’s CentroVerde project in Montclair’s central business district, which includes the Valley & Bloom mixed-use development of 258 apartments and 50,000 square feet of retail and commercial space. That portion broke ground in 2013.
