The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey hired James Gill to be general manager of New Jersey airports, covering Newark Liberty International Airport and Teterboro Airport.
Gill brings more than 20 years of senior leadership experience in the aviation industry, according to the Port Authority. He will lead more than $5 billion in planned improvements at Newark airport, improving the customer experience for more than 46 million annual passengers.
The airport is being upgraded with a new Terminal One, planning advances for a new Terminal Two and a replacement of the AirTrain system.
Gill was previously director with the business and finance group at LeighFisher, advising aviation industry clients in fiscal planning and management for airports. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and an MBA from Duquesne University and he is an accredited airport executive, an international airport professional, and a certified public accountant.
The Port Authority operates Newark Liberty International Airport, Teterboro Airport, LaGuardia Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York Stewart International Airport, and bridges and tunnels in both states.
