As it expands its own expertise in the industry, an accounting and advisory firm serving North America, Europe and Asia, says it is now accepting a new form of payment: cryptocurrency.
Prager Metis CPAs, which has New Jersey locations in Basking Ridge, Cranbury and Hackensack, said Friday it will accept Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash as payment through blockchain payments provider BitPay.
According to the firm, the move gives it leverage to “operate in the digital world,” while also expanding its ability to gain new customers.
“With the increasing number of clients in technology, real estate, and broker companies exploring ways to mainstream cryptocurrency, the ability to foresee the future and implement the infrastructure necessary to accept the growth of cryptocurrency payments is important to our firm,” Chief Executive Officer Glenn Friedman said in a prepared statement. “We chose BitPay to manage our merchant processing because they of their complete handling of the entire process, from getting the Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash from the customer to depositing funds into our account.”
Friedman added that the firm chose BitPay because the company takes care of the entire handling process for transactions. Clients remit the exact amount of Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash for a bill through a push notification and BitPay transactions can be made at any computer or mobile device – Prager Metis said the company operates more than 50 different wallets, offering further convenience.
In addition to accepting cryptocurrency as a form of payment, the firm also serves clients through its Digital Assets Practice Group – led by Tax Department Manager Peter Goodrich and Audit and Accounting Department Partner Brian Goldblatt – providing blockchain advisory, management consulting, token economic and design services, and more.
