Beginning May 22, one of the biggest voices in Central Jersey business connections in coming to you.
The Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber is launching “Mercer Business and YOU” in partnership with RVN TV—a one-hour streaming program designed to bring information to the business community of Mercer County.
The program, Chamber President Peter Crowley told NJBIZ, seeks to continue the legacy of “Mercer Business Magazine,” which served the Central Jersey business community from the 1950s until it ceased publication in 2018. After acquiring the MIDJersey Chamber of Commerce about a year ago, there wasn’t interest in continuing the publication as a magazine, but there was interest in continuing its mission.
In addition to covering topics like local news and legislative updates, the program will also feature recurring segments inspired by features from Mercer Business Magazine, like “Ask a Busy Person.”
Airing May 22, the inaugural episode is set to feature regional Mercer County leaders discussing how the business community can “emerge, expand and grow” beyond COVID-19 with a special segment titled “Restarting Mercer County: The Road Ahead.”
And while the development of “Mercer Business and YOU” isn’t a direct result of the current circumstances residents of the state find themselves in due to COVID-19, Crowley said that the pandemic did get the Chamber more focused on the project.
The show will not only provide more visibility for the Chamber and its members – currently about 1,500 companies with 10,000 contacts – but, especially in the face of the pandemic, “chambers are becoming a very important place for connections,” Crowley said. And the show offers even more ways to extend that, with the opportunity to connect to the public, as well.
The chamber “want[s] to become the go-to location for what’s going on in the business community in and around Mercer County,” Crowley said.
Crowley says the Chamber is hoping to run the show at least once, maybe twice a month. But, if you miss an episode you’ll be able to access replays on the organization’s website.
