Applications are opening for the second year of Prudential Financials’ Emerging Visionaries program.
The effort builds on the legacy of the Prudential Spirit of Community awards – the largest youth recognition program in the country based exclusively on volunteer community service, according to Prudential. In 2021, the initiative was reworked to honor students addressing societal and financial challenges.
“Recognizing young leaders for making their communities stronger and more inclusive is another way Prudential fulfills its purpose of making lives better by solving the financial challenges of our changing world,” said Chairman and CEO Charles Lowrey. “Our inaugural class of Emerging Visionaries was truly exceptional, and we’re looking forward to honoring more young innovators in 2023.”
In April 2023, the Emerging Visionaries will honor 20 students for their work to develop solutions for social issues and five for their work to break down financial barriers. Winners receive $5,000 plus an all-expenses-paid trip to Prudential’s headquarters in Newark.

Financial finalists will also take part in a final pitch event with the chance to take home a grand prize of $15,000.
All winners will get to meet with leaders from Prudential to talk strategy and get to refine their projects through a coaching program with employees.
Prudential is also working with Ashoka for this year’s program to help develop winners’ skills with ongoing education, in the form of workshops and online learning. Financial Health Network, longtime partner of The Prudential Foundation, is providing advisory support.
Applications for this year’s Emerging Visionaries program are open for students in the U.S. ages 14 – 18 now through Nov. 3. To apply, visit prudential.com/emergingvisionaries.
Prudential operates similar programs in other countries where the company has a significant business presence, including in Brazil, China, India and Japan.
