Quest Diagnostics announced Nov. 28 that it completed its acquisition of LabCare Plus, the outreach laboratory services business of Ohio-based Summa Health.
Financial terms of the deal, which was announced Sept. 5, were not disclosed.
The move broadens the Secaucus-based diagnostic company’s reach into northeastern Ohio. As part of the deal, Quest’s labs in Pittsburgh and Twinsburg, Ohio, will provide testing for physicians and patients previously served by LabCare Plus.
“By helping top health systems like Summa Health optimize their lab strategies, Quest empowers better health and affordable care for more patients,” Quest’s then-Chairman, CEO and President Steve Rusckowski said in September. Jim Davis succeeded Rusckowski as CEO and president of the Secaucus-based company earlier this fall.
Ben Sutton, Summa Health’s chief strategy officer and president of ambulatory care and clinical service lines, also said at the time, “With this relationship, patients and providers in Ohio will benefit from access to advanced laboratory capabilities supporting better health outcomes.”
